WHY SHOULD I CHOOSE SALUS MEDICAL?

WHEN TO SURGERY CHARGED?

All operations paid max. 14 days after booking of the desired operation date .All patients according to the Danish law 14 days to regret. If you want to be operated within 14 days waives right of cancellation (Rules for cancellations is still valid)

DOES STAFF SPEAKS ENGLISH / DANISH?

Our team in Denmark speaks Danish, English and Russian. Our surgeon and other doctors at the hospital can communicate with patients in English. As for the nursing staff, some speak English and some do not, but everyone is happy to help. Communication should not be a problem, You always have an opportunity to get an interpreter.

CAN I TAKE A FRIEND OR FAMILY MEMBER WITH THE JOURNEY?

Yes, you can bring a friend or a family member. It costs 3500 kr to take a fellow traveler with. The price incl. flight tickets and hotel accommodations (standard room, another for more price)

DO YOU OFFER LOANS?

Unfortunately we can not yet offer loans to non Danish citizen

HOW SURGEONS HELP ME TO MAKE THE RIGHT DECISION?

The surgeon will use questionnaires and photos that you sent to us to evaluate which surgery form is the best for you. Staff at Salus Medical is also happy to discuss the procedures with you. Your final “face to face” conversation with the surgeon will ensure that you are fully informed and satisfied with the choice of surgery.

IF I HAVE COMPLICATIONS AFTER MY OPERATION, CAN I BE LONGER THAN PLANNED?

Yes, you will not be released from the hospital until the surgeon is satisfied with your condition and you are ready to make the journey home. You will not be charged for the extended stay.

WHAT PREPARATIONS DO I HAVE TO MAKE BEFORE OPERATION?

Please see the information page before and after surgery. Any additional preparations will be discussed on an individual basis.

DO I HAVE A TRAVEL INSURANCE?

It is a good idea to buy travel insurance.

I TAKE MEDICINE CAN I GO FURTHER WITH SURGERY?

Yes, but be sure that you have informed us about your medication, when you filling out the questionnaire. This is very important. Blood thinners must be stopped before surgery. You will be informed more about it

ARE THERE RISKS REGARDING TO THE OPERATION?

Any kind of surgery involves risks. But this must be balanced against the risk of being extremely overweight. Your stay at the hospital after surgery will provide close monitoring and decision on an extended stay, if needed.

Perioperative complications include bleeding, perforation of the stomach, esophagus or intestine, venous thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, dermal lesions, bacterial infection. These complications are rare, and been taken great care to avoid them. But like all operations, problems can and do occur, but they are unusual.

IS IT SAFE TO FLY AFTER SURGERY?

It is safe to fly home after your surgery. A heparin injection administered to prevent blood clots, so there should be less risk than usual.
